BINANCE — API KEY SETUP
Complete step-by-step manual · Futures trading only · No withdrawal rights needed

⚠ SET LEVERAGE MANUALLY — BOT DOES NOT DO THIS

SolEdgeBot does NOT set leverage. Before your first trade, go to Gate.io Futures → SOL_USDT market → click the leverage button and set it manually (e.g. 5x or 10x).
If you skip this step, Gate.io uses its default leverage. This is your responsibility.

Log in to Gate.io
Go to gateio.com and log in. Make sure your account has Futures trading enabled. If not, go to Wallet → Futures → Enable first.

Go to API Management
Click your profile icon (top right) → API Management → click Create API. When asked for the type, choose System generated.

Name your API key
Enter a label like SolEdgeBot and click Next. Gate.io will ask for a 2FA confirmation — enter your authenticator code or SMS code to proceed.

Set the correct permissions
On the permissions screen, set exactly the following:
✅Enable ReadingRequired for balance and position info
✅Enable FuturesRequired for placing futures orders
❌Enable WithdrawalsNEVER enable — not needed
❌Enable Spot & Margin TradingNot needed
❌Enable Universal TransferNot needed

IP restriction (optional but recommended)
For extra security you can restrict the key to SolEdgeBot's server IP.

If you want to add it, enter: 62.171.169.179

Leave unrestricted if you prefer — the bot will still work fine, but less secure.

Copy your API Key and Secret
Gate.io will display your API Key and Secret Key. ⚠ The Secret Key is shown only once — copy and save it immediately in a safe location before closing this page.

Paste both keys into your SolEdgeBot account.

Set margin mode + leverage on SOL_USDT — DO THIS BEFORE THE BOT TRADES
① Set margin mode to ISOLATED
1. Go to Gate.io Futures → SOL_USDT
2. Click "Cross" shown at the top of the order form
3. Switch to Isolated and confirm

⚠ Always use Isolated margin. Cross margin means a liquidation can drain your entire futures wallet. Isolated limits the risk to only that position.

② Set your leverage
1. Click the current leverage value (e.g. "20x") on the order form
2. Set your preferred leverage (recommended: 5x or 10x)
3. Click Confirm

SolEdgeBot does NOT change either of these settings.
⚠ Security reminder: Never enable Withdrawals. Never share your Secret Key. SolEdgeBot will never ask for your login credentials.
✅ Done! Your Gate.io Futures API key is ready. Enter the API Key and Secret during registration. Remember to set your SOL_USDT leverage first.
